Why Are We Embarking On This Journey?

We are a family of four who have decided to step away from our everyday routines and embark on an extraordinary adventure. After four unforgettable years in Japan, we're trading our office and school desks for a world map and our suits and uniforms for travel gear. We’re opening the door to a new chapter—a year-long sabbatical filled with wonder and possibilities.

We long to pause the rapid cycle of work, school, and sleep so that we can truly savor life. With this journey, our hopes are to:

  • Slow Down and Cherish Each Moment: Embrace a gentler pace that allows us to create cherished, lasting memories together as a family.

  • Reflect and Dream: Find time to dwell on our aspirations, reassess our life journeys, and let our minds wander beyond the familiar.

  • Embrace Global Cultures: Immerse ourselves in the rich tapestry of diverse traditions, inspiring our children to see beauty in every way of life.

  • Learn Through Exploration: Balance structured homeschooling with the invaluable lessons that travel offers—curiosity, resilience, and spontaneity.

  • Reconnect with What Truly Matters: Step away from material excess to uncover the essentials of happiness and realize that sometimes, less is more.

Our Family

Why We Created This Space?

We created this site with a clear set of goals in mind:

  1. Documenting Our Journey & Preserving Memories: We want a dedicated space to chronicle our family’s experiences and milestones. By using maps, journal entries, and visual storytelling, we’re building a digital scrapbook that our children—and we—can revisit in the future.

  2. Staying Connected with Friends & Family: This site serves as a central hub for sharing updates, photos, and personal reflections. It’s our way of keeping loved ones informed about our travels and ensuring that, despite the distance, our connections remain strong.

  3. Building a Community & Sharing Practical Insights: By detailing our trip’s logistics, our homeschooling experiences on the road, and our cultural encounters, we aim to offer guidance to other families considering similar adventures. We hope that through discussions, guest posts, and shared experiences, we can build a supportive community of like-minded travelers.

  4. Learning and Sharing the Process: As we build and expand this site, we’re also learning about website creation and design. We plan to share our insights and practical lessons with anyone interested in taking on a similar project.

Meet The Crew

We're a lively family of four taking on the world one "misadventure" at a time. Think of us as a quirky team where Dad sometimes leads us hilariously astray, Mom keeps us on track with a blend of wit and wisdom, and our two little explorers turn every detour into a fun discovery. Welcome aboard!
